Microsoft Claims Sony Pays Developers to Opt Out of Game Pass and Other Subscriptions
The corporation mentioned this in a report for the Brazilian regulator, which is checking the deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard.
According to Microsoft, Sony is trying to suppress the growth of subscriptions out of concern that they threaten its “leadership in the digital distribution market of console games […], which is based on a business strategy focused on the sale of exclusives and consoles themselves.”
Microsoft also did not agree that because of the deal with Activision Blizzard, it would receive an “unattainable advantage in subscriptions,” as Sony stated.
