Ben Cousins advised mobile developers to go into frituplay
Ben Causins, a former employee of Electronic Arts, believes that premium mobile games should be distributed according to the freeplay model.
It also makes sense for developers to refocus on the PC platform. According to Ben Cousins, failure awaits in any other case.
The reason is that today the mobile games market is already filled with high-quality titles available on the frituplay model. And the feathering of projects in app stores no longer has such a powerful effect as a few years ago.
In recent years, I have repeatedly observed how inexpensive premium games received powerful promotion, but brought almost no money - they collected four–digit sums at best.

Cousins admitted that his theses can be refuted by the example of a number of premium games that have shown excellent financial results: Monument Valley is an example of this.
“Earning a few dollars for a couple with a friend is not yet a success in the mobile games market. If you have more than 10 employees in your staff, then you will burn out with a premium model. Therefore, either switch to frituplay, or go to other platforms,” Kazins summed up.
Ben Cousins has worked for Lionhead, Electronics Arts and DICE in the past. Currently, he is the co-founder of the independent studio The Outcasts, where he is working on a role-playing project for PC.
