Technology companies have become less likely to hire specialists for the development of the metaverse
In the period from April to June, the number of new vacancies with the word “metaverse” in their description decreased by 81%. Such data is shared by the research company Revelio Labs.
According to analysts, the demand for metaverse specialists has fallen amid problems in the technology industry. Many companies in general have slowed down hiring — for example, Meta (banned in Russia), Apple and Google.
At the same time, the number of freelancers in areas related to the metaverse has increased fourfold.
