Gameloft will focus on in-game advertising
Gameloft has opened its own digital marketing agency and started promoting its titles through in-game advertising.
The decision is dictated by the fact that the financial results of the French company over the past 12 months have been "mixed" and "disappointing," according to CEO Michel Guillemot.
"We expect that advertising will become a significant new business area for us and will increase the shareholder value of the company in the long term," said Guillemot.
Guillemot noted that the company's plans for 2015 will not be limited to the introduction of in-game advertising. Gameloft is expected to launch about 20 new titles during the year.
