The Gothic 1 Remake has almost recouped its development and marketing costs already
The remake of the original "Gothic" has been a box office success for the studio Alkimia Interactive and the publisher THQ Nordic. As reported in a recent financial report by their parent company Embracer Group, the game is approaching break-even and is expected to become profitable soon.

Embracer Group did not disclose the budget or the current revenue of the Gothic 1 Remake. They only mentioned that during its debut week, the game sold over 500,000 copies.
According to the analytical service Gamalityc, to date, the Steam version alone of Gothic 1 Remake has earned $21.5 million in gross revenue—meaning before store commissions and taxes. Including console versions, the total amount must be even greater, but the exact figure is unknown.
Gothic 1 Remake was released on June 5, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.
