Unity will sell Supersonic and shut down the ironSource Ads Network

The company Unity has decided to dispose of two major assets. It disclosed its plans in a report for investors.

First, let's recall that Supersonic is a publisher specializing in casual and hyper-casual mobile games. It has released titles such as Bridge Race, Going Balls, Build A Queen, Screw Master 3D, and Pick Me Up. On the other hand, ironSource Ads Network is a popular advertising network.

Unity announced that the ironSource Ads Network will operate for about another month—its final day will be April 30. However, when and under what terms the sale of Supersonic will occur is unknown. Currently, Unity is only in discussions with a financial advisor who will assist in organizing the future deal.

Unity hopes that ultimately the closure of ironSource Ads Network and the sale of Supersonic will allow it to "simplify the business" and increase revenue.

Although Unity didn't delve deeply into the reasons for this decision, it's possible that at least the closure of ironSource Ads Network is linked to the company's bet on the AI-driven advertising platform Unity Vector. Every quarter, it generates increasing revenue and accounts for around half the revenue of the Grow Solutions division.

Both Supersonic and ironSource Ads Network originally belonged to the company ironSource. They came under Unity's control in 2022, when it acquired ironSource for $4.4 billion. However, as noted by portal Mobilegamer, there will soon be almost nothing left of ironSource within Unity.
