Ares Interactive has successfully raised $70 million in Series A funding for its "AI-enabled development, marketing, and live-ops" initiative

Ares Interactive has successfully secured $70 million in a Series A funding round to foster the development of innovative game franchises that resonate with players.
General Catalyst spearheaded this financing, which the company claims is among the largest early-stage investments in gaming in recent memory. This capital will aid Ares Interactive in advancing its aim to become a next-gen, multi-platform, free-to-play gaming company.
The company is managed by a seasoned team located in both San Francisco and Berlin. It is guided by an advisory board and utilizes AI-driven development, marketing, and live operations, enabling swift iteration, seamless content scaling, and real-time player feedback adaptation.
Among their current projects is Baseball Hits 26, a game tailored for baseball enthusiasts and featuring licensed professional players. Their earlier title, the roguelike RPG Heroes vs Hordes, has achieved over 13 million installs since its release.
"This funding confirms our vision and the prowess of our team," stated Ares Interactive president, Mike DeLaet.
He added that Ares Interactive combines unique operational expertise with a commitment to sustainable growth, building on a legacy of creating and managing successful free-to-play games for major industry publishers.
"While many are scaling back, this investment empowers us to grow prudently with remarkable partners and enables us to develop the games we've always dreamed of making, crafting experiences, and building communities that keep players engaged over the long haul," DeLaet concluded.
