Sara Bach has been elevated to president at Finland's mobile gaming powerhouse, Supercell, as the company undergoes structural changes.

Announced via LinkedIn, co-founder and CEO Ilkka Paananen revealed that Bach will oversee a newly-formed live games division, which consolidates several key departments: business, marketing, community, personnel, and game technology.

Bach joined Supercell in 2023, initially as head of live games, later advancing to chief live games officer. Her previous experience includes roles at DICE, King, and Mojang before her tenure with the creators of Clash of Clans.

Paananen expressed the significance of Bach's new role, highlighting her leadership abilities and alignment with Supercell's culturally driven ethos.

He added, "Having Sara oversee the daily operations frees me to concentrate on areas where I can make the greatest impact. I'll be collaborating with Drussila Hollanda, head of new games, to instill a more entrepreneurial spirit in our new projects."

Supercell aims to foster an environment where ambitious game creators can develop the next major hit games.

The newly established Live Games division intends to centralize diverse disciplines essential for the development and maintenance of ongoing gaming projects.

Paananen explained that the shift to a unified organizational model is intended to keep the focus on enhancing the player experience, noting that their growth has led to increased complexity within the company.

"As each game evolves as a live service, continuous enhancement for players becomes crucial. Our focus on this has not only improved our games but also expanded our player base significantly," he stated.
