The creators of the cozy game Origament: A Paper Adventure are looking for partners for media promotion and collaborations
We continue to showcase indie teams. Next up is Space Sauce, a team working on a cozy project about a flying letter, Origament: A Paper Adventure.
If you're an indie developer ready to talk about your project and are also seeking investment, a publisher, or someone to join your team, be sure to write to us in the Telegram column — https://t.me/overwordly.
Pavel Gorbunov, CEO and founder of Space Sauce, shared details about the project.

About the Team
Space Sauce began in 2017 as an outsourcing studio. At that time, it consisted of just four people, including myself. We started by creating large cruisers and environments for War Thunder. By the way, Gaijin Entertainment is still one of our key clients. In total, we have already made more than 80 ships for this game company! We also worked on Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, SnowRunner, and are currently working on planes and ships for Digital Combat Simulator World.
Almost immediately, we also started developing our own projects. I financed the development: I invested what I earned from outsourcing.
Initially, we decided to create our own mobile StarCraft — complete with a storyline, lore, and stunning design. You can view the art for the project, which is named Singular Space, here.
We produced a very solid vertical slice of the project. We had an excellent demo that could be played online against others or bots. Plus, it was very well optimized — it even ran smoothly on older smartphones.

At this stage, in 2022, we froze the project for a more suitable time: investors were hesitant to invest in something so bold, and we couldn't bring the game to market on our own.
However, creativity was bubbling within us, and we decided to focus on simpler projects. We had a number of interesting developments, including one called Unfold, which later became known as Origament. Unfortunately, we didn't find an investor at that time. Without one, active development stalled.
By 2024, it became clear that a stronger and more motivated team was needed for effective work, and my team had burned out significantly over the years. It was challenging, but I completely reformed the team.
Interestingly, right after this, an investor was found! He liked our studio, our developments, and probably me.
Currently, over 50 people are working in outsourcing at Space Sauce, and more than 10 people are involved in the game development division.

About the Project
Since the beginning of 2025, I'm assembling a dream team. We are reviving Unfold, which has been renamed to Origament: A Paper Adventure. The previous name turned out to be quite popular on the internet, and the word "origament" more accurately reflects the essence of the game.
We are currently about halfway through the journey. A demo for the autumn Steam Next Fest is almost ready. As for the release, it is planned for early 2026.
Development is being carried out on Unreal Engine 5. We're creating beauty using "old-school" methods to deliver great visuals to users even on low-power laptops and weak PCs. Our extensive experience in outsourcing and working on well-optimized projects greatly helps in this regard.

About the Gameplay/Mechanics
The core gameplay is quite simple yet original. We play as a living letter that can transform into a ball of paper, a boat, a plane, and a paper shuriken. As we progress through the levels, we change forms. The plane can overcome obstacles or fly over chasms. The ball rolls on the ground. The boat allows us to sail along streams. The shuriken can break through barriers and larger objects and scare off enemies. There are ability combinations that come in handy in special situations.
We're aiming to create a meditative adventure with simple yet enjoyable puzzles and light challenges. This is a game that helps you relax after a hard day: it doesn't have competitive or hardcore elements. It's simply pleasant to play, to be in this mysterious, magical world.

About the Target Audience
Initially, we thought the target audience for the game would be gamers aged 16-30, but judging by the playtest statistics, we have very few players in this age range. Young children and people over 30 are thrilled with our game. It seems that it will be particularly popular as family entertainment.
About the Business Model
We're pursuing a premium model. The price per copy is still an open question; we're exploring the topic. Of course, we have a detailed financial plan that outlines both an optimistic and a lower price. We periodically adjust it.
We hope to boost marketing by release (it's tough at the moment), gather 40-50 thousand wishlists, and earn around $500,000 from sales on PC and consoles. This is the optimistic plan. There's another plan, but let's focus on the positive.

About the Metrics
Currently, we have 10,500 wishlists. We hope to increase this number after the Next Fest.
Whom We Are Looking For
Our current goal is to increase the recognition of both the project and the studio. We're just starting to work seriously on our media presence. We are happy to share any information with the press, provide a build for streamers, and are open to any collaborations.
