Warner Bros. Games has revised its executive lineup to align with its strategy of producing games related to Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Mortal Kombat, and DC Comics, as stated in an earlier announcement.

According to Variety, three studio heads have been elevated to senior vice president. Yves Lachance, who leads the Montréal studio, is now the SVP overseeing games tied to Harry Potter and Game of Thrones.

Shaun Himmerick, head of NetherRealm, known for the Mortal Kombat series, has been promoted to SVP for these franchises as well as games based on DC Comics, highlighting major characters like Batman.

In addition, Steven Flenory, previously the chief at Warner Bros. Games New York, has assumed the role of SVP of central tech & services. His responsibilities include game technology, publishing, quality assurance, user research, and customer service.

The three executives will report to JB Perrette, the CEO of global streaming and games. Perrette commented on their promotion, expressing confidence in their leadership and track records, and looked forward to collaborating to produce top-notch games for significant franchises.

Warner Bros. Discovery, the parent company, recently declared its intention to divide into two distinct entities: Streaming & Studios, to encompass the gaming sector, and Global Networks, which will manage the majority of its $37 billion debt, focusing largely on television.

No dismissals or resignations have occurred as part of these organizational shifts, as reported by Variety.

David Haddad, who was Warner Bros. Games president, left the company in January. It remains unclear whether a successor for his position is being sought.

The company had previously closed three studios in February, including Monolith Productions, leading to the termination of the planned Wonder Woman game.

Rocksteady Studios, famed for the Batman: Arkham series, experienced multiple layoffs following the underperformance of its multiplayer project, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, released in 2024.

Prior to the game's release, Rocksteady's co-founders, Sefton Hill and Jamie Walker, departed the studio in October 2022.

The adjustments in Warner Bros. Games follow a $300 million+ writedown in 2024, prompting a pivot to focus on established game franchises.
