Advertising at Gamescom has become 64% more expensive over three years. In 2025, showing a trailer at the opening ceremony will cost up to 465,000 euros
Gamescom is one of the most prominent exhibitions in the gaming industry, and participating in it becomes increasingly expensive every year. Journalists from GamesWirtschaft have learned how much it will cost to show a trailer during the main broadcast at the Opening Night Live ceremony in 2025.
As before, the cost of advertising slots depends on the trailer's duration:
- 30 seconds — 140,000 euros;
- 60 seconds — 205,000 euros;
- 90 seconds — 270,000 euros;
- 120 seconds – 335,000 euros;
- 150 seconds – 400,000 euros (new slot);
- 180 seconds – 465,000 euros (new slot).
For comparison: in 2024, showing a one-minute video at Opening Night Live cost 24% less — 165,000 euros. Compared to 2022, the rates have increased even more significantly. On average, they have risen by 64%. Back then, companies paid 85,000 euros for a 30-second slot, 125,000 euros for a one-minute slot, and 210,000 euros for a two-minute slot.
The price hike may be attributed to the increased popularity of Opening Night Live. In 2024, the opening ceremony of the exhibition attracted 40 million views, which is twice as many compared to 2023.
Gamescom 2025 will take place in Cologne from August 20 to August 24. The opening ceremony will be on August 19.
