Genshin Impact generates $1 billion every six months on average, with 70% of its revenue coming from Asia
With lifetime revenue of more than $3 billion, Genshin Impact is one of the biggest mobile titles in the world. miHoYo’s game generates $1 billion every six months on average, Sensor Tower reports.
- According to Sensor Tower, it took Genshin Impact 171 days to reach its first $1 billion in revenue on mobile (excluding third-party Android stores).
- The game crossed the $3 billion mark 551 days after its launch on September 28, 2020, which is in line with similar data previously provided by AppMagic.
- Genshin Impact became the highest-grossing gacha-based mobile game globally in the first quarter of 2022, followed by Lineage W and Uma Musume: Pretty Derby.
- China accounts for 30.7% of the game’s total player spending, followed by Japan (23.7%) and the US (19.7%). Overall, Asia accounts for almost 70% of Genshin Impact’s global revenue.
