Devil May Cry 5 surpasses 5 million units sold in three years since its launch
Capcom has announced that Devil May Cry 5 has reached a new milestone. The latest installment in the action series has sold over 5 million units since its launch.
The company shared the news on Twitter, thanking fans all over the world for their support.
Earlier this year, Capcom also updated the list of its “platinum titles,” games that sold over 1 million copies globally. According to this data, Devil May Cry 5 reached 4.8 million units sold as of December 31, 2021.
It means that the game has sold additional 200k copies ever since, which makes it the best-selling title in the series’ history. In comparison, DMC4 has reached 3 million units sold globally since its launch in 2008, and the first game sold a little over 2 million copies.
Devil May Cry 5 came out on March 8, 2019, and received positive reviews from critics. It also won multiple awards, being named as the Best Action Game at The Game Awards 2019.
