Diablo II: Resurrected, a remaster of Blizzard’s classic ARPG, has reached a new milestone. The game reached 5 million copies sold since its launch in September 2021.

Blizzard shared the sales data on April 15, also providing information on upcoming updates.

  • The company will introduce the first competitive season for Diablo II: Resurrected, with Ladder coming to the game on April 28.
  • This will bring a competitive system with several modes (like the ones in Diablo II Legacy), with each of them having their own leaderboard. 
  • Blizzard also released patch 2.4, which added a few significant changes to class balance and improved some gameplay elements.

Diablo II: Resurrected came out on September 23, 2021, on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. While the game received generally positive reviews from critics, players criticized it for numerous technical issues, including server and connection problems.

The original Diablo II reached 1 million copies sold during the first two weeks since its launch on June 29. 2000. Although it is hard to track the game’s total sales, it crossed a 4 million mark in 2001.
