Rumor: New layoffs at Playgendary. The marketing and development departments have been affected
Playgendary may have laid off the entire marketing team, as well as the team working on arcade games. This was reported on social media by a manager from one of the Cypriot companies, citing their sources.
According to the manager, the marketing team layoffs happened in a single day without warning or subsequent severance pay. Details regarding the arcade team's dismissals are not disclosed. The number of people who lost their jobs is unknown.
It was also revealed that at the end of April 2024, Playgendary registered a company in Cyprus called Queen Interactive Games. According to data from the country's registry, at least some of the executives of Queen Interactive Games also work at Playgendary. For example, one of its directors is Dmitry Shilengovsky, the founder of Playgendary. The manager speculates that Queen Interactive Games isn't a subsidiary but rather Playgendary itself under a new name.
Recall, Playgendary has been actively downsizing for the past two years. In the summer of 2022, the media reported that the company laid off 350 out of 700 employees, and a year later, reports emerged about the complete dissolution of the Belarusian division.
