Playrix and Bandai Namco to donate hundreds of thousands of dollars to Ukraine
Game companies across the world continue to help Ukrainian citizens and their employees in the country. Playrix and Bandai Namco have now joined the efforts by making donations to humanitarian efforts.
- Playrix’s Ukrainian subsidiary Hit Games, which employs over 1500 people, will donate $500k to the Ukrainian Red Cross, according to GamesIndustry.biz. It has also put all employees on paid leave “until they feel ready to get back to work” and paid them an extra month’s salary.
- Bandai Namco announced its decision to donate ¥100 million (around $850k) to Save the Children in support of “their humanitarian cause for people affected by the crisis in Ukraine and seeking refuge outside the country.”
The list of other studios and publishers, which donated their money to Ukraine, includes CD Projekt, Ubisoft, Wargaming, and Supercell. On top of that, a lot of companies are now suspending their businesses in Russia, pulling off their games and / or pausing other operations.
