Hearthstone game director leaves his team to work on new unannounced project at Blizzard

Ben Lee has announced that he is stepping down from his role of the Hearthstone game director. Instead, he will now be working on another secret title, which Blizzard has in the making.

Lee shared the news in the latest episode of the Coin Concede podcast. He also revealed some information about the upcoming changes to Blizzard’s hit CCG, including a “bunch of new card types that we’ve been experimenting with that are really interesting and fun” (via PC Gamer).

The former Hearthstone director didn’t say much about a new unannounced game that Blizzard is now working on. The studio also has another project in development, an untitled survival game that was revealed soon after Microsoft announced a $68.7 billion deal to acquire Activision Blizzard.

Benjamin Lee joined Blizzard in 2018. Prior to that, he worked as lead producer and development director at CD Projekt RED, as well as lead game designer at Funcom.
