AppLovin has released a free tool for porting game code from Unity to other engines
Over the past week, there have been many developers who have decided to abandon the Unity engine and switch to other platforms. To help them, AppLovin has released Unifree, a tool that allows you to transfer the code of games written for Unity to the Unreal Engine, Godot and Cocos engines.
The Telegram channel Gamedev suffering drew attention to the output of Unifree.
Unifree uses ChatGPT 3.5 Turbo. As AppLovin notes, the tool does not work flawlessly. The resulting code will have to be modified manually, but Unifree greatly simplifies and accelerates the transition to a new engine.
AppLovin has published Unifree on GitHub under the MIT license. You can read more about the work of the tool in the company’s blog.
