Philippe Sauze steps down as Head of Activision Blizzard and joins MY.GAMES as Head of Europe

Industry veteran Philippe Sauze, formerly Vice President / Head of Activision Blizzard EMEA, has joined MY.GAMES to lead the company’s European division.

For MY.GAMES, the appointment of Philippe Sauze is the latest in a series of strategic moves aimed at strengthening its European business. As part of these ongoing efforts, MY.GAMES’ investment arm MY.GAMES Venture Capital has recently invested in Barcelona-based game developer The Breach Studios.

Sauze is tasked with building a strategy that will reinforce MY.GAMES’ publishing hub in Amsterdam and expand the brand’s presence in Europe and beyond.

Sauze spent 15 years at Electronic Arts, which he joined in 1995. From 2006 to 2008 he was President of the French video game industry syndicate (SELL). Since March 2018, he has been Managing Director and Vice President Europe at Blizzard Entertainment. Since January 2020, Sauze has combined this role with that of Vice President / Head of Activision Blizzard EMEA since January 2020.

I am very happy to join MY.GAMES as Head of Europe and feel hugely motivated by the new challenge. The company has brought me on board with the key strategic objective of developing the European division and strengthening MY.GAMES’ global position. The office in Amsterdam already covers the spectrum of game production — including publishing, localization and operating games in the region — and it will be a great honour to build, innovate and expand upon this foundation. The fact that MY.GAMES is a people-centred operation with mechanisms in place for collaboration and knowledge sharing means that we are well placed to grow and is a great fit for me and my professional experience.

Philippe Sauze

Head of MY.GAMES Europe
