IOC shared the news today on its official website. The Olympic Virtual Series will take place from May 13 to June 23. Here are international federations and games that will be part of the events:
- World Baseball Softball Confederation, with eBaseball Powerful Pro Baseball;
- Union Cycliste Internationale, with cycling and training app Zwift;

“The Olympic Virtual Series is a new, unique Olympic digital experience that aims to grow direct engagement with new audiences in the field of virtual sports,” IOC president Thomas Bach said. He also notes that its conception is in line with Olympic Agenda 2020+5, a strategic plan that should “encourage the development of virtual sports and further engage with video gaming communities”.”
IOC clarifies that people around the world will be able to compete in the Virtual Series from home. Additional information about the rules, prizes, and participation will be announced soon.
According to IOC, other international sports federations are committed to taking part in future events. It means that organizations like FIFA and FIBA could partner with Electronic Arts and 2K, which publish popular series like FIFA and NBA 2K.
