Last year, Microsoft acquired ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda Softworks for $7.5 billion. Apparently, the tech giant is now ready for more.

According to industry insider XboxRagnar, Microsoft is planning to acquire another top-tier publisher of the same caliber as Bethesda.

“I believe the announcement will be at the end of 2021 or the beginning of 2022,” says XboxRagnar. This confirms the information shared by another insider on XboxEra.

While this shoud all be taken with a grain of sault, Microsoft does have some spare cash to pull it off. In its 2021 Q2 fiscal report, Microsoft revealed it had turned a profit of $15.5 billion, up 33% from the previous quarter. That’s enough to buy to Bethesdas.

Currently, there are 23 Microsoft first-party studios. Apparently, this number could grow soon.
