Facebook to support Epic in dispute against Apple

Facebook announced that it would help Epic Games prove Apple’s anti-comptetitive behavior.

Although Facebook is not joining the litigation, it announced it would provide “relevant information in the Epic Games litigation regarding how Apple’s policies have adversely impacted Facebook and the people and businesses who use our services.” “Facebook agrees that it is critical for the Court to understand the broader implications of the unfair policies that Apple imposes on iOS developers, among many other businesses,” the company’s blog reads.

With its new AppTrackingTransparency policy, Apple, according to Facebook, is more concerned with profit, than user privacy. By undermining personalized ads, Apple is forcing devs and small businesses to rely on subscriptions and other in-app payments for revenue, which the tech giant will profit from.

Epic Games is yet to comment on this.
