Among Us devs cancel sequel due to success of part one

A week after the announcement of the sequel to Among Us, developer Innersloth canceled it. This is, surprisingly, due to how popular the original title has become.

Initially, work on Among Us 2 began due to problems with the codebase of the original, which is outdated and not designed to support adding big chunks of new content.

However, the success of the project made Innerslothreconsider and cancel the sequel to focus on supporting the first game. “This is probably the more difficult choice because it means going deep into the core code of the game and reworking several parts of it,” the studio said in a statement.

The developers have announced a number of improvements that will be introduced to the game in the foreseeable future. Among them are better server experience, colorblind support, Friends/Account system as well as a new a Henry Stickmin themed location.
