Sony devs happy with DualSense after seeing prototypes

Sony announced DualSense, a new wireless controller for PlayStation 5. The company is starting to ship the new controller in its final design to developers so that they can implement its features into their games.

Some developers have already been able to explore haptic feedback and adaptive triggers of the new controller and how they increase immersion in games.

Devs from internal Sony studios, however, have apparently only dealt with prototypes, not the final designs. Here’s what Naughty Dog’s Kurt Margenau, co-game director on The Last of Us Part II, tweeted about his experience with the device:

It looks like the developer is still not sure as to what the final version of the controller will feel like.

Naughty Dog audio lead Robert Krekel confirms that he has only tested the prototype.

Sony’s next-gen console is still expected to arrive at the end of 2020.
