Rockstar to give 5% of GTA Online and Red Dead Online revenues to fight coronavirus
Rockstar Games is joining the industry-wide efforts to fight COVID-19, and it means business. From April 1 to May 31, the company will donate 5% of GTA Online and Red Dead Online revenues for the treatment of patients.

The announcement came through the developer’s Twitter. It’s hard to translate it into any concrete sums: Rockstar does not disclose the financial performance of its titles. According to Wedbush Securities, the studio’s monthly donations might reach $2 million.
If that is accurate, then Rockstar donations to fight COVID-19 could be the largest seen in the industry. Many gaming companies are making donations to fight the spread of the pandemic. Among them are CD Projekt, Playtika, Playrix, and others.
To date, there have been over 877 thousand coronavirus cases in the world, including 43 thousand deaths.
