Archetype Entertainment led by BioWare veterans to develop Sci-Fi RPG
Last year Wizards of the Coast launched a new studio headed by James Ohlen, former designer and Creative Director at BioWare. Now the name of the studio has been revealed along with brief details on its upcoming project.
We are thrilled to finally announce our new studio – Archetype Entertainment! Led by @JamesOhlen and @crobertson_atx, we are developing a multi-platform roleplaying game set in an all-new science fiction universe. Check out the website in our bio for job opportunities.

Archetype Entertainment is developing a multiplatform sci-fi RPG. Whatever this projects shapes up to be, it’ll stand on the shoulders of giants like Baldur’s Gate, Neverwinter Nights, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, which Ohlen worked on at BioWare.
The only description we have of that unannounced project is that it will be a “story-driven epic where choices they make will have real consequences on how their story unfolds.”

Other notable ex-Bioware hires include Chad Robertson as General Manager, Drew Karpishin (writer on Mass Effect 1 and 2 and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic) as Narrative Director and Jesse Sky (formerly Lead Designer on Star Wars: The Old Republic) as Creative Director.
