Logitech to acquire Streamlabs
Logitech International agreed to acquire Streamlabs, a company offering software and tools for live streaming.
Ujesh Desai, general manager and vice president of Logitech G (Logitech’s gaming brand), commented: “We’ve been fans of Streamlabs and their software since we started partnering with them over two years ago. Their industry-leading software is complementary to our existing gaming portfolio, and we believe we can do even greater things together.” The price of the deal is $89 million in cash, plus an additional $29 million if Streamlabs hits particular revenue growth targets.
The Streamlabs acquisition is expected to close in the coming weeks and will not affect Logitech’s Fiscal Year 2020.
Following the acquisition, nothing will change for streamers.
“We will continue to support multiple platforms, all hardware and software services that we support today (and more in the future). Our tools will remain free and open. The extended Logitech family — Logitech G, ASTRO Gaming and Blue Microphones — will help us build more awesome stuff together,” said Ali Moiz, Streamlabs CEO.
