Makers of voice games secure €1m investment

The Amazon Alexa Fund, the Google Assistant Investment Program, Sisu Game Ventures and others have invested around €1m in Doppio, Portugal based studio that makes “voice-controlled conversational games.”

According to gamesindustry.biz, several angel investors also participated in the seed funding round including Unity founder David Helgason and Supercell game lead Lasse Seppänen.

Doppio was founded by BioWare alumni and will use the money to expand the team and produce more games like their debut title The Vortex.

The Vortex is currently available for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. The authors promise “an immersive narrative game designed from the ground up to be played with voice.” The game feature a story by Greg Buchanan who wrote No Man’s Sky: Atlas Rises/Next.
