eMarketer: in 2016, the UK will spend more on mobile advertising than on TV
Spending on mobile advertising in the UK will overtake spending on TV advertising by the end of 2016. This forecast is given by the analytical firm eMarketer.
Mobile has almost caught up with TV. According to the calculations of eMarketer analysts, mobile advertising spending in 2015 will amount to $4.94 billion, or 20% of all advertising spending in the country. For comparison, the British will spend $6.26 billion (25.4%) on TV advertising.
By the end of 2016, the advantage will be on the side of mobile. England will spend $6.68 billion on mobile advertising, or 25.5% of the total amount spent in this industry. For TV, the figures, on the contrary, will decrease and amount to $6.48 billion (24.8%).
In the future, the trend will continue and spending on mobile advertising will continue to grow. In terms of growth rates, this segment of the industry will significantly overtake all others in the next three years, eMarketer predicts.
