"In Our Team, We Have an AI Agent": How Game Studios Entrust Entire Processes to AI and What Problems They See in Its Use

The editorial team at App2Top has repeatedly approached developers for opinions on neural networks and received the most polarized responses. From "it's random that desperately needs human intervention" to "soon AI will create a grand hit for me." To find out what is closer to reality, we're discussing with representatives from MidHard, Beresnev Games, Playkot, and other studios.

No, teams still need talented personnel and always will. But yes, some processes — from data processing to launching advertising campaigns — have already been completely transferred to artificial intelligence in some cases. However, working with AI is not limited to basic prompts and actually requires a higher level of expertise.

Accelerate Development — Slow Down QA

MidHard studio develops mobile and PC games, and they also utilize AI at every stage. Code, sound, 2D art, 3D models. Some of these processes are almost entirely assigned to neural networks.

"Which processes have we transferred fully or almost fully to AI? Prototyping, tool development for game design, 2D and 3D concepting, music generation, almost any text information analysis and operation," notes MidHard Games CEO Ilya Boytsov.

Regarding prototyping, Boytsov says: "Most game designers are not programmers. To make 100 iterations in five prototypes, we used to have to explain the tasks to the programmer 100 times. This required a whole pipeline of communication, waiting, and expenditure of human energy. Now that's not necessary at all. Game designers have lots of ideas and lots of words. We give them to the 'neuron' — and in half an hour to an hour, we have a mini-game."
