"Blue Prince" has yet to be translated into other languages as it is deemed "largely considered near impossible"
Tonda Ros, the creator behind the highly praised game Blue Prince, has revealed that translating the game is unlikely because of its complexity. Ros discussed the challenges in a conversation with Polygon, mentioning that even though automated translation could theoretically expedite the process, the game's intricate puzzles might not retain their subtlety after translation.
The developer noted, "There are certainly no concrete plans [for localization] because it is largely considered near impossible," acknowledging the difficulty of translating the game’s enigmatic elements, such as the intricate estate-wide painting puzzles.
Ros expressed concerns about expanding the game's accessibility at the potential cost of personal burnout and the possibility of not pursuing a new project. When asked about a potential new installment, Ros confirmed, "There will not be a direct sequel to Blue Prince." He hinted at the possibility of another game in the same universe but did not commit to maintaining the genre.
The developer emphasized his desire for his projects to be distinctively original, similar to the progression from Myst to Riven, rather than a direct sequel like Myst 2.
