Samsung wants to ban iPhone 5 sales
Samsung intends to ban sales of the iPhone 5 in connection with Apple’s infringement of patent rights to LTE technology, The Korea Times reports.
The new iPhone has not yet been announced, and Samsung is already ready to sue Apple. According to the Korean company, the new device will violate a patent related to the fourth-generation LTE mobile communication technology.
Samsung decided to file a lawsuit after the announcement that the Korean provadair SK Telecom will sell the iPhone 5, which supports 4G LTE technology.
According to AppleInsider, currently the Apple company owns about 400 patents related to LTE technology. Samsung has twice as many patents in this regard. And, according to analysts, Samsung has every chance to win the case.
By the way, the Taiwanese NTS recently won a similar lawsuit from Apple, just related to the use of LTE technologies.
