EU authorities and Google are preparing a "white list" of iGaming operators

European gambling regulators, together with Google, are working on creating a list of legal operators from the iGaming sector. This was reported by Michel Groothuizen, head of the Dutch supervisory authority (KSA).

According to him, the initiative is aimed at combating the shadow sector and the promotion of illegal gambling.

“Operators not included in the ‘white list’ will by definition be considered violators and may be blocked by Google. We hope that in this way we will cut off one of their main sources of traffic,” Groothuizen commented on the situation.

At the same time, Groothuizen noted that EU regulators prefer to collaborate with companies rather than engage in litigation, as proceedings can take up to five years and their outcome is not predetermined.

The head of KSA did not specify an approximate timeline for the appearance of the “white list.”
