In Russia, a law was passed for the expedited blocking of websites with illegal gambling
The State Duma of the Russian Federation approved in the second and third readings a bill that proposes to reduce the time frame for blocking online resources featuring illegal gambling. This was reported by the press service of the lower house of parliament.
The law will take effect on September 1, 2026. According to it, starting in the fall, decisions to block such websites will be made within two working days, instead of the previous five days.
As noted in the State Duma, the changes in legislation are aimed at speeding up the blocking of illegal content. These innovations will help combat the illegal market more effectively, make the internet safer, and increase trust in legal platforms.
