Ubisoft's agreement with Tencent has been finalized

Tencent has finalized a €1.16 billion investment in Ubisoft's Vantage Studios, which oversees popular game franchises such as Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six.
As of October 1, Vantage Studios has become operational, integrating Ubisoft’s branches in Montréal, Quebec, Sherbrooke, Saguenay, Barcelona, and Sofia, and employing around 2,300 individuals. Post-investment, Tencent now possesses a 26.32% ownership in Vantage Studios, though Ubisoft maintains control.
Ubisoft revealed that Vantage Studios is valued at €3.8 billion before the investment. Yves Guillemot, Ubisoft's CEO, emphasized the significance of this milestone. "This investment not only highlights our valuable IPs but also signifies a transformative step for Ubisoft," he stated. "The substantial €1.16 billion infusion will reduce our debt and bolster our financial standing, enabling strategic investments within the company."
He added, "Vantage Studios, with its leadership structure in place since October 1, embraces autonomy, focus, and commitment to players. It manifests our Creative Houses concept with the goal of accelerating flagship franchise growth, moving towards becoming annual billion-euro brands."
Tencent's President, Martin Lau, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with Ubisoft and the launch of Vantage Studios. "With a talented team and exceptional creative insights, we anticipate Vantage Studios will further expand the Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six platforms, continuing to entertain and inspire players globally."
Ubisoft's recent financial disclosure prior to the Tencent partnership completion reported a net debt of €1.15 billion.
