Spyder Games, recognized for the popular Roblox game Steal a Brainrot, has initiated legal action against a Fortnite Creative game accused of infringement. The alleged infringing game, known as Stealing Brainrots, is purported to have replicated various elements from Spyder Games' creation.

According to Aftermath, the California court received a filing last week, where Spyder Games contends that Thomas Van Der Voort duplicated "artwork, objects, design, and game elements" from their game. The lawsuit documents can be accessed here.

Spyder Games launched its game, Steal a Brainrot, in May 2025 and secured the copyright for it by August of the same year. The complaint asserts that the resemblances between the two games are deliberate and stem from choices made by the defendant, rather than being coincidental or genre-based.

The developer is seeking compensation for damages, attorney fees, and a permanent order to prevent Van Der Voort from continuing his alleged activities.

In related news, Roblox recently introduced its inaugural Parent Council, aiming to incorporate real-world insights into its community.
