In a recent development, a 19-year-old individual has admitted to making death threats against Epic Games. Hailing from South Dakota, Jayden Griffin could face a sentence of up to five years imprisonment along with a $250,000 penalty, or potentially both, following his admission. Griffin confessed to dispatching the menacing communications to the gaming company between late October and early November of 2024.

Initially maintaining a plea of not guilty, Griffin amended his court plea on September 29. According to a report by GameSpot, Griffin acknowledged in court: "I sent messages to Epic Games, where I threatened to kill employees of the company. I intended for the messages to be viewed as a threat at the time that I sent the messages."

Court documents reveal that the court has determined that the defendant understands the charges against him and the consequences of a guilty plea. The court verified that Griffin's plea is informed, voluntary, and backed by factual evidence of the crime's essential elements, thus proceeding to judge him guilty.

Epic Games has opted not to provide any public statements regarding the incident. Currently, the date for Griffin's subsequent court appearance remains undecided.
