Paramount has entered into an agreement with Activision to create a live-action film inspired by the Call of Duty series.

According to Variety, Paramount will be responsible for developing, producing, and distributing the film based on the long-standing franchise, although financial specifics of the agreement are not disclosed.

David Ellison, who serves as the chairperson and CEO of Paramount, expressed his enthusiasm in a statement, describing himself as a "lifelong fan" of the games, and noted that bringing them to film realizes a long-held aspiration.

Ellison commented, "From playing the initial Allied campaigns in the original Call of Duty to engaging with Modern Warfare and Black Ops, I have cherished countless hours with this franchise. It is an honor and a significant responsibility, entrusted by Activision and fans globally, to bring this universe of storytelling to the cinema."

Rob Kostich, the president of Activision, also stated, "Call of Duty has, over time, captivated audiences with its thrilling action and compelling narratives, uniting millions globally. Our commitment to innovative Call of Duty experiences is steadfast."

Kostich added, "In Paramount, we have found an excellent collaborator to translate the franchise's exhilarating and immersive action into a cinematic experience. We are eager to start this new journey that both respects and evolves the essence of what has made Call of Duty iconic."

Though additional information about the movie deal is scarce at present, it is expected to cover both television and film productions.
