New developments have emerged in the lawsuit faced by Krafton from the former executives of Unknown Worlds, creators of Subnautica 2. The former developers allege that the absence of Charlie Cleveland and Max McGuire, the founders, is affecting the development team negatively.

Last month, details surfaced regarding the legal action against Krafton, Inc. by the previous leaders of Subnautica 2 developer Unknown Worlds. The complaint revolves around a $250 million bonus linked to meeting revenue targets for the 2025 Early Access release, which Fortis Advisors LLC, representing the former shareholders, claims Krafton avoided by employing "pressure tactics" to delay the game.

Krafton, in a statement, emphasized its dedication to creating the best experience for its fans, declaring, "This case is more than a matter of business interests; it underscores our dedication to offering a genuine experience to players." Their response highlights feedback from the development lead of Subnautica 2 describing the planned early access as covering only "about 12% of our intended 1.0 scope," comically speculating that this pace would extend development to 30 years.

The publisher has admitted to requesting a delay in launching the anticipated sequel on early access as a measure to ensure the quality of Subnautica 2 and uphold player confidence.

Krafton further claims it invited the co-founders back to manage development, an offer they declined, while alleging the core employees prioritized avoiding a timeline that could compromise their financial targets.

The company's legal representatives accused the key staff of gambling with game releases to maximize their financial gain, possibly harming the company's reputation in the process.

"We trust that the truth is evident," Krafton asserted, reaffirming their pledge to safeguard the Subnautica brand and uphold the loyalty of its worldwide community.
