Epic Games has announced it is taking legal measures against a seller of cheats for Fortnite and an individual responsible for a DDoS cyber attack

Epic Games, the creator behind Fortnite, has initiated legal proceedings against two individuals. One is accused of using and selling cheats, while the other is alleged to have orchestrated DDoS attacks affecting live streamers.

In a statement via their Newsroom X/Twitter account, Epic Games declared, "We pursued legal measures against two persons who violated our policies. One engaged in the distribution and use of cheats, while the other conducted cyber attacks on content creators during live gameplay. Both individuals have been instructed to cease these activities and are prohibited from participating in Fortnite. Violating the rules incurs penalties. View their communications to the Fortnite community."

Subsequently, a linked tweet featured a 25-second video from YouTuber Mirrored who offered an apology to "the Fortnite community" for "cheating in tournaments and facilitating others to cheat by selling and distributing hacks and devices."

Mirrored stated, "I went against Epic's policies, resulting in legal actions against me. I am permanently banned from Fortnite and will face further consequences if I engage in the distribution of cheats again."

Similarly, YouTuber Zebsi shared an apology in a video. "Hello everyone, it's Zebsi," the message began. "I conducted DDoS attacks in Fortnite using the username TTV Humpty.LLC. These attacks impacted matches involving streamers and other players."

Zebsi expressed regret for the disruptions caused, stating, "I apologize for the DDoS attacks and the negative impact on streamers, other players, and Epic Games. My Fortnite accounts have been banned. I regret my actions and will refrain from further DDoS attacks."

Both individuals have remained silent on further details regarding the legal proceedings or any additional consequences.

This situation is part of a broader effort by Epic Games to tackle cheating, including lawsuits against creators and sellers of cheat software and actions against those participating in professional tournaments with cheats.
