Epic Games has won a legal case against a cheat in Fortnite, securing a judgment of $175,000

Epic Games has announced legal action against a Fortnite competitor accused of using cheats during a tournament.

The individual, whose identity remains undisclosed, has been permanently banned and is facing a lawsuit demanding $175,000. This is due to the use of illicit software and hardware, with attempts made to evade detection by switching accounts.

The company stated, "It didn’t work. Cheating has no place in Fortnite, and we’re doing everything we can to stop it, including legal action," in a statement.

The case has progressed with a judge siding with Epic Games since the accused did not respond to the lawsuit.

"The judgment requires the player to pay $175,000, which we intend to donate to charity. They are also permanently banned from Fortnite," Epic Games disclosed.
