Epic Games wins legal battle against Fortnite cheat, securing $175,000 in damages

Epic Games has announced legal action against a Fortnite player accused of cheating in a competitive event.
The player, who remains unnamed by Epic, has been permanently banned and is facing a lawsuit demanding $175,000. The lawsuit claims the player employed cheating tools and attempted to evade detection by using various accounts.
The efforts to conceal cheating were unsuccessful. "Cheating is unacceptable in Fortnite, and we are taking all necessary measures to combat it, including pursuing legal action," the company stated during the announcement.
Epic further shared that a court has decided in their favor because the player did not respond to the lawsuit.
"The court has ordered the player to pay $175,000, an amount we plan to donate to charity. Additionally, the player is permanently banned from Fortnite," the company mentioned.
Recently, Epic Games has also initiated a lawsuit against developers of Fortnite cheating software, known as Sincey Cheats and Vanta Cheats. More details can be found here.
