The tentative agreement has received approval from the national board of SAG-AFTRA

The national board of SAG-AFTRA has given its approval to the tentative deal made with the convenience bargaining group for their Interactive Media Contract, as was reported earlier this week.
This tentative agreement will now be presented to union members for their vote. If the members decide to ratify it, the deal will ensure performer pay increases by 15.7%, with an additional 3% rise each year for the next three years.
Additionally, it was disclosed that overtime pay caps for overscale performers will now be gauged based on a double scale, and health and retirement contributions will increment from 16.5% to 17% once ratified, further escalating to 17.5% in October 2026.
Details about AI safety measures were also shared, mandating informed consent and allowing performers to withdraw such consent when their digital likeness is used during a strike.
Safety measures outlined include:
- Mandating the presence or ready availability of a qualified medical professional at rehearsals and performances where hazardous conditions exist
- Ensuring rest periods for on-camera principal actors
- Prohibiting employers from requiring performers to engage in stunts or dangerous acts during virtual auditions
The comprehensive terms for the three-year agreement are scheduled to be released with the ratification documents on June 18, 2025.
Earlier, SAG-AFTRA officially ended its strike against the video game bargaining group, a strike that had persisted for 11 months following a union vote to initiate the strike at the end of July 2024.
