Tencent prevails in intellectual property lawsuit against Peacekeeper Elite leaker

Tencent secured a legal victory regarding intellectual property rights against Xiaopang Commentary, in the case concerning Peacekeeper Elite, the Chinese iteration of PUBG Mobile.

According to PocketGamer.biz, the individual, Li Moumou, was found guilty of violating Peacekeeper Elite's IP by datamining and reverse-engineering the game. This breach led to the leaking of unreleased content, which was exploited for monetary benefits.

The court has mandated Li Moumou to issue an apology, halt unauthorized activities, and provide an undisclosed amount in damages to Tencent.

Recently, Ubisoft has furthered its restructuring efforts by creating a new arm focused on their renowned franchises such as Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six, following a notable $1.25 billion investment from Tencent.

To swiftly advance its business model, Ubisoft established a new subsidiary centered around their core game series. After a structured selection process, Tencent acquired a minor stake with an investment of €1.16 billion ($1.25 billion), aiming to broaden the lasting and cross-platform presence of these titles.
