The court hearing of the claim by the Prosecutor General's Office in the "Lesta Games" case is scheduled for June 3
Originally, it was scheduled for today, May 27, but the Prosecutor General's Office presented the court with new evidence. Due to this, the defense was granted a week to review it.
This was reported by Izvestia citing the lawyer of the group of companies, Roman Makarov. According to the lawyer:
- The Prosecutor General's Office is requesting various agencies (such as the Tax Service, Rosfinmonitoring, and others) about the company’s activities;
- The data obtained is then attached as new material;
- A number of documents were appended to the case today.
It is unclear whether a full-fledged hearing took place today or if it was limited to brief discussions.
Previously, Lesta Games pointed out that the interval between the preliminary hearing (held on May 15) and the main session is very short — 12 days. During this period, the group of companies was required to prepare the documents requested by the court, proving that it has long since ceased cooperation with Wargaming.
To recall, according to the Prosecutor General's version, the owner of Lesta Games, Khatazhaev, and the owner of Wargaming, Kisly, together “constitute an extremist organization” and “conduct extremist activities on the territory of Russia.”
In the public discourse, the arguments presented by the Prosecutor General as part of the case include only references to various videos and articles, according to which Wargaming supported Ukraine.
The representatives of the Russian executive authorities demand the seizure of the game developer “World of Tanks” and “World of Warships” from Khatazhaev, who has stated that, if the court upholds the claim, the company will be transferred to state property.
Interestingly, in some of today's publications dedicated to the situation, there is a phrase suggesting that this is a lawsuit seeking to have “Lesta Games” recognized as an extremist organization, although it specifically concerns a claim against Khatazhaev and Kisly.
