A Japanese modder has received a suspended prison sentence for modifying Nintendo Switch consoles

A court in Japan has handed down a two-year prison sentence to a man involved in illegally altering and distributing Nintendo Switch devices.

The individual, convicted today on April 14, was charged with trademark violations related to Nintendo. His prison term has been suspended for three years, and he faces a fine of approximately $3500.
