Media: Australia may ban children from playing online games
The Australian government is developing a law prohibiting children under the age of 14-16 from using social media and "other digital platforms." Some media outlets have suggested that this wording could mean potential restrictions on access to online games as well.

According to the TweakTown portal, the ban might primarily affect games that include chat features. For example, Fortnite, Roblox, and Minecraft. This feature makes games similar to social networks, increasing their risks of falling under the proposed legislation.
Some sources close to the authorities claim that game publishers and other platform owners will be able to apply for an exemption to remove their projects from the "blacklist."
The text of the bill has not yet been published publicly, so it is uncertain whether games will be affected. The law is expected to be prepared by the end of the year.
