The authorities are not yet ready to provide state support to potential manufacturers of a Russian gaming console

The head of Russia's Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov, told TASS that several companies have already shown authorities their prototypes of a domestic gaming console. However, he noted it's too early to discuss government support.

Alikhanov did not specify the names of the companies. Previously, rumors circulated that one possible manufacturer could be "ROSA." Allegedly, it has requested a billion rubles from the government to create a portable device akin to the Steam Deck. "Rostelecom," GS Nanotech, and "Beshtau" have also announced their willingness to engage in console development.

The minister added that console developers need to be prepared to invest in games for their devices.

"First and foremost, it's necessary to consider the possibility of loading the gaming console with domestic content. Because, as you understand, a console without games is not needed by the consumer," said the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
