In Russia, there have been calls to ban Last Train Home
The St. Petersburg Prosecutor's Office has filed an administrative lawsuit demanding the ban of the strategy game Last Train Home in Russia.
Last Train Home
Last Train Home is an RTS game set during the Russian Civil War in the early 20th century. The game tells the story of Czechoslovak soldiers who set out for home on an armored train and try to survive in harsh conditions. It was developed by the Czech studio Ashborne Games and published by THQ Nordic. Last Train Home was released on November 28, 2023, for PC.
The prosecutor's office stated in the lawsuit that Last Train Home incites hatred towards Red Army soldiers and glorifies members of the Czechoslovak Legion. Furthermore, the developers distort history and deliberately portray the Russian state authorities of that time in a negative light. This could undermine Russia's "historical foundations and patriotic traditions" and "harm the mental and social health and development of children."
The hearing is scheduled for August 22.
