Sega has finalized a settlement with an individual accused of harassing a staff member
Sega has successfully settled a lawsuit involving an individual who targeted an employee with harassment on social media. The perpetrator is required to pay unspecified damages.
According to Eurogamer, Sega accused this person of making numerous defamatory and offensive remarks online.
Following a court's approval to access the individual's details, Sega reached a resolution that mandates the removal of the offensive posts.
"We view such defamatory actions, including threats and intimidation, as significant human rights violations that harm our employees' dignity and degrade the work environment," the company stated.
"We will not accept any form of harassment. In adherence to our policy on customer harassment, we will continue to take necessary measures to safeguard our employees' rights whenever we identify malicious behavior," the statement continued.
In a related incident last year, Bungie pursued a case where a Destiny 2 player racially abused a community manager. The court ordered the offender to pay nearly $500,000 in damages.
